Dr. Donald L. Fixico (Shawnee, Sac & Fox, Muscogee Creek and Seminole from Oklahoma) is the Distinguished Foundation Professor of History at Arizona State University. Before ASU, he was the Thomas Bowlus Distinguished Professor of American Indian History, CLAS Scholar & founding Director of the Center for Indigenous Nations Studies(a master's program)at the University of Kansas. Dr. Fixico is the author of numerous publications on Native American history and culture. Dr. Fixico and other significant commuity tribal leaders ensure the accurate inclusion of tribal concerns and interests in the development of design, content and institutional planning.
